Terminal Insertion

Along with our in-house toolroom, we also have an onsite insertion department which provides us with the ability to insert terminals into our precision moulded components for electrical connection.

We are able to offer a large variety of standard wire pin options as well as pressed terminals including fast-on spade terminals suitable for winding magnet wire onto our bobbins. Through our years of experience, we can engineer pin retention figures that typically reach 50N. All of the terminals used here at Miles Platts are lead-free and RoHS compliant.

Depending on your specific requirements custom design terminal pin insertion can be accommodated on already existing, versatile production equipment. We offer an extremely competitive pinning service with the use of a combination of bowl-fed, fully automatic pin insertion machines to semi-automatic pinning techniques.    

Micro Terminal Insertion

Miles Platts is proud to announce our new micro-pinning capability for 2024, allowing us to manufacture miniature pinned coil bobbins with a part weight of less than 0.05g.

This new technology includes a computer controlled custom pinning machine capable of handling wire sizes as small as 0.25mm sq. With a maximum production capacity of 3600 per hour, our multi-pin insertion system and integrated HD imaging system ensure high quality and efficiency.

Our vibratory bowl feed system and 100% automated real-time inspection guarantee precision and reliability.

These micro bobbins are versatile, suitable for various applications such as miniature switches and micro sensors in telecommunication and medical applications.
