There is a wide range of reasons why you may be considering transferring your existing tools to a new supplier. Many manufacturing businesses have tooling and product lines that are difficult to maintain without having the resources required on site.
Some smaller injection moulders do not have an in-house tool room and are unable to carry out repairs and maintenance without outsourcing. Perhaps you are experiencing issues with quality when a tool is not maintained and the parts being received have deteriorated in quality or are inconsistent in form, quality, or appearance. Another consideration is UL compliance; we have worked with many businesses who have found themselves subject to additional UL requirements, we are a UL compliant manufacturer.
Tooling transfers can also help reduce the risk of end-users experiencing production delays and disruptions, which are often the result of economic volatility in the countries where overseas suppliers are located.
Miles Platts are fortunate to have a tool room on site and the additional benefit of over 49 years of experience supporting businesses to transfer tools and provide the added benefits of helping to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Our innovative factory, equipped with the highest standards of machinery, each department liaising with each other to ensure we deliver the highest efficiency, quality and reliability, and ultimately speeding up your manufacturing processes allowing your business more time to focus on core competencies, development and enhancing your company’s reputation for quality and service.
When we receive your tool we carry out a full engineering review, utilising the knowledge from our in-house experts and take a detailed inventory of all the tools received, and identify any issues early on. We will then sample the tool and assess its shape and condition. When all departments are satisfied with the standard we produce a full quality control document and production samples.
